Well, after a long time of putting this off, it's finally here! The announcement date and beginning of the large event I've been planning! WHAT IS THIS EVENT!? well you're about to find out.
The Event is called Infractus Fatality.
It's purpose: An OC Tournament.
YES THAT'S RIGHT IT'S A TOURNAMENT FOLKS!!
Here's the shtick. For now, I'll post the basic information and rules. As the time progresses while auditions come in, I'll update you with more information. Savvy?
The Playing field is a Pocket demension called Letalis.
Here's the description:
Letalis itself is a Pocket dimension connected with our own. It is an all out ENORMOUS place, hosting thousands and thousands of breeds of monsters. It is said that the people in the world who vanish without a trace have somehow gone to Letalis. The dimension itself is seemingly alive, living and breathing, playing tips and tricks to all who participate in the games it plays. It is said that there is an embodiement of the dimension's 'mind' so to speak. Two in fact; The first is a little girl with blood red hair and no eyes. She wears a black over-drape and she sports a lovely pair of black wings! [humour ftw] The inhabitants of Letalis see her as an omen, and a trickster, when in reality this is not the case. on the rare occasions she talks, she merely helps those she comes in contact with, telling them useful things about the environment they are in, and giving them means to survive. She is known as the Seraphis. The second is a tall man wearing platinum armour, a long violet cape, and carrying with him a rather large sword. This man is generally known as the best man in Letalis, the opposite of the Seraphis, when in reality, he is just that. He is known as the Ominus. He is Cunning, Charming, and a trickster. He lies about anything he can, and will lead inhabitants of Letalis to their demise, before blaming it on the seraphis for foiling his plans of greatness every time. He has long long blonde hair and black eyes. His look is vaguely similar to that of Lucious Malfoy. Moving on, Letalis has many gateways all over the world, and one huge vortex of a gateway that sucks in tourists every day by the dozens, it's said that the main vortex is located somewhere in Kentucky
---
There are Eight locations in letalis, and these are Their descriptions. [this will be helpful when tourney time comes around, but I'll post them again for good measure when the time comes to begin battling]
NIFLHEIM
Named after the Norse 'Hell', Niflheim is a ghost town. It hosts a variety of spirits from Hostile to Docile, Pranksters to Helpers. Niflheim also hosts an unbelievable monster count, of which now two are the same. Also residing in Niflheim is a rare collention of Phantoms exclusive to Niflheim and Niflheim alone. The buildings within are all of a run down nature; abandoned and hard to safely live in due to the intense Monster activity. In the center of Niflheim, an all consuming darkness resides. Along with slowly but surely sucking the life out of any living creature that comes within 50 feet of it, it constantnly spouts out abominations of all shapes and sizes, including being the source of all the phantoms. Niflheim is approximately 40 square miles; it is a vast town, and despite it's many abominations, it also sports more often than nought a very nice place to hide until the monsters are far enough for you to run for the safety of your well-being. Unfortunetly, most of these places are ironically located relatively close to the darkness.
LETALIS WASTELAND
This barren stretch of land extends for miles and miles, with very little plant life or animals. Due to the extreme temperatures, very few monsters also reside in most of the wasteland. The few that do are extremely dangerous in nature, if only for the fact that they live underground, thus having the ability to dig almost remniscant of the underground digging you get in Bugs Bunny cartoons. The monsters usually look like their environment; Sandy-brown skin of a thick, course nature, rock-like claws built for digging, etc. The wasteland occasionally hosts an abandoned cave or two which was once used by these monsters as a home. However, adventurers should be wise about choosing these places to stay, for some of these creatures still reside within the caves waiting for some dumb morsel to wander in at any time. At the center of the wasteland is a vast oasis that spans about two miles' radius. This pure blue lake is actually a spring that expands many miles underground, putting fourth a constant source of clean, crisp water. Around the oasis is an enormous variety of plants and fruits, off of which most of the creatures around the oasis survive. The oasis has it's own breed of monster. Though it is an evolved form of the common monsters throughout the wasteland, it is most definitely less hostile and will only attack if attacked, threatened, or starving. [keep in mind that they're only vegetableayrians until the lack a food source XD]
BROSTEL
This huge city is located smack dab in the middle of Letalis. It is comepletely enclosed by ten-foot-thick cement walls, and contains only one heavily guarded main gate. Originally, Brostel was meant as a safe haven for any who would become trapped within Letalis. Unfortunately, due to the sole nature of the world, a great majority of the people living inside Brostel became 'Corrupt'. The corrupt are, in a way, like zombies. They have no morals, a bloodlust fit for barbarians, and no recollection of their former selves. Unlike zombies, the corrupt can exist alive or dead, but only about 15% of them are dead. When a regular person dies within the walls of Brostel, they become corrupt within minutes, getting to their feet if only to kill people. While the corrupt are intelligent enough to plan and talk and such, for a reason nobody has yet encountered, they don't know how to use guns, and those that do are gunned down themselves. Due to the sudden turn of hostility within Brostel, Most of the people within Wield guns, and the city has a great militia. The people are mostly well protected, but more often than not, a corrupt will pick of stragglers and kill them in brutal ways. As it turns out, most corrupt enjoy using scalpels. The ratio of currupt to noncorrupt beings in Brostel is 20:1.
MORSUS BLACKLANDS
The Blacklands are most well-known for the vast Graveyard that covers abou 95% of the area. Throughout the graveyard, there is every kind of tombstone imaginable, in a manner of speaking. There are many mausoleums, which usually house monsters stereotypical to a graveyard in most cases. Animated skeletons, Zombies, 'frankensteins', everything. Along with some other monsters created by the 'dead' energy surrounding the place. Also living in the blacklands are a great number of Necromancers. These individuals are never harmed by the creatures in the blacklands, as they are usually the ones controlling them. The necromancers do not take kindly to trespassers who come without someone dead, and will usually attempt to kill said people as they see them. The ground itself of the blacklands, is pitch black and for some reason does not take on much light, which would explain how the place got it's name.
AGON MOUNTAINS
The Agon mountains pretty much form the barrier of Letalis. It is said that any who cross the barrier of the Agon Mountains can return home and resume their lives, but nobody who has attmepted has lived to tell the tale. The Mountains are riddled with monsters of godly power and portals that lead to random places throughout the dimension. Most of the monsters in the mountains tower over humans at a great 10 feet at the shortest height. The mountains are covered in a lush jungle that contains many plants and animals both hostile and docile. [for example, Gigantic Venus Flytraps] It is possible for people to live in the Agon mountains, and some do. However these individuals are conditioned to their environment. They are very intelligent and great fighters. [I mean, you'd have to be to take on a 15 foot ogre who's tearing up the trash on your back yard] Most of these people live in small coloinies among the trees, which are usually well-hidden. The people will help any who come their way without hostile intentions, and kill those who cause trouble for them, as they have enough of that without help.
BOGG OF ETERNUS NIDOR
This place is pretty much just what it sounds like if you know latin. The place is quite smelly, which is unfortunate for those who wander into it, because it really is that smelly. However people do reside in it. Anyone who lives in the bogg is usually equipped with a nice array of Gas masks, and sludge-trudging equipment. They live in homes that are quite smellproof, and there's even a smellproof safehouse in the center of it. The bogg has a rather simple selection of creatures, most of which are usually either covered in smelly goo or made of said smelly goo. the smaller percentage of monsters are lanky, black, and very twitchy, due to the fact that the smell has effected their nervous systems over the years. While all the monsters here are quite hostile, they are weak compared to the monsters of other regions. They make up for this by travelling in packs, and being quite smart. [Big sludge blobs aside, because they're just big and sludgy]
ETERNUS NIDOR
The city of ruins between the Morsus Blacklands and the bogg. The architecture somewhat resembles that of old times, where there were castles and homes built of cobblestone; knights and maidens, kings and queens, etc. The monsters here very from old decrepit zombies [that are quite dusty] to animated skeletons. Also included in the roster of creatures are zombie dragons and chimeras. The city has almost no people in it due to the high danger of the area, and the other areas around it. You may find one or two people if you're lucky, but they're probably going to die if you meddle with their safehouses.
CASTELLO DE DESPIERAZIONE
A huge menacing castle looming over Eternus Nidor. The place itself is Evil in nature and has several levels inside, each with a different twist to it. [finished explanation coming soon]

The audition process is as follows:
1. A nice ref sheet [in colour] of your character would be quite nice so that people draw them accurately.
2. A one or two page comic of your character being brought to Letalis by Either the Seraphis or the Ominus. I don't have any pictures of them right now, so how they're portrayed is completely up to you because they can take many different forms based on the descriptions in the paragraph about Letalis.
CONTESTANT PLACEMENT:
There will be 64 contestants in the tournament. Each contestant will be assigned at random to one of the areas listed above. There will be eight contestants placed in each area. These contestants are required to remain in this area until the last contestant of each area stands alone with the NPC for that area.
THE FINAL ARENA:
A huge colluseum made of old crumbling stone where gladiators once fought. The arena is located on a hug floating island above the Letalis Wasteland. This is where the final rounds will take place. When there is one contestant left in each area, those contestants and the respective NPC for their area will be transported to the final arena. in the arena, contestants are allowed to call on the npc from their previously assigned area once to assist them in a battle. The final contestants will eliminate eachother the same as in previous rounds of the tournament. Contestants ill not be permitted to leave the arena at any time. Anyone who leaves is automatically out of the tournament, no questions asked.
JUDGE NPC'S
To each area, there is an assigned NPC. these NPC's are characters based off of the judges in the tournament. Each NPC has a list of abilities, each different from the other NPC's. The contestants may use the NPC for their respective area in up to two battles, but no more. The NPC's my either help your character, or heckle them, whichever you choose, but plese try to script the NPC in character. If your opponent has the NPC helping you in their entry, your number of times you can use the NPC is not decreased. [just a tidbit people may ask about.]
THE CREATURES OF LETALIS
The creatures and monsters of the dimension are placed in the areas to add a sense of reality. Your characters may battle the monsters as well as the other contestants, but please remember that the point of the battles is to defeat the contestants, not the monsters. [they're added for more creative potential] You may kill as many monsters as you want in your endeavors to win the tournament.
RULES
1. no fan characters. period.
2. You may have more than one character, but only one character may be the main subject of a battle. no "super special team ups that could obliterate any being" kind of thing.
3. Creativity over battles that are over in one big blast, because those are just no fun ;D
4. Don't pester the judges once their decision about a round is final. it's not nice ):
and I think that about covers it.
The judges have been selected and their NPC Images and Information will be posted over the alloted audition time.
THE DEADLINE FOR YOUR AUDITIONS IS FEBRUARY FIRST.
That should give you guys plenty of time. SO! I await seeing your auditions guys! Have fun~
ALSO:
be sure to stop by the tournament chatroom and chat it up with your fellow contestant hopefuls! ;3
The Infractum
GOOD LUCK GUYS!
Also, be on the lookout for =

"You can plunder my booty!"
Just got a question in general:
1.Could you make a map of sorts to show the general layout of the whole area? Nothing specific, just want to see whats next to what and such.
2.How long will 1 round be? 2 weeks/3 weeks/ 1 month etc.
Some about the Ominus:
1.Does he change his appearance to blend in more with our world when he comes "here"?
2.About him being a trickster - Is he, lets say, a clownish person? That is does he like to manipulate with people for his own pleasure and goof around when he attacks?
Need to get as much information as I can.
one round will be two weeks, not including about two days of downtime for the artists.
When he appears on earth I imagine he wears a sleek kind of suit and polished shoes.
He's not a goofy trickster, but more a mature reserved trickster. The kind of guy who seems like he has good intentions but really doesn't. If he attacks you, he does tend to play around with you a bit, but for the tournament he's more concerned with bringing people back to letalis rather than killing them XD

All I'm tellin' them, I'm back and I'm not. I can't remember where I was, I forgot. Knitting it all, these holes that I need, to crawl through a brick wall is hard to say the least.

Well, I just skipped the middle part...
... and printed it to read it quietly in public transports!
Look like a very interesting contest, I hope to be able to go in. I must work on the char sheet and the audition, now.
